Mutt-inis? Paw-icures? A Furry Fashion Show? Does this sound like your kind of Monday night? These were just a few of the Doggie Diversions unleashed upon the singles crowd at Loew's Coronado Bay Resort earlier this week. For a $20 donation, guests were invited to celebrate the new online dating inspired motion picture, "Must Love Dogs". At the event, dog lovers wolfed down Tail Waggin' Treats while their four legged friends dined on an elegant selection of Eukanuba dog food, a 'Bow Wow Buffet', if you will. There were prizes, raffles and freebies from Loew's, Lucky Dog, Sleepyhead.com, and more. The mingling singles engaged in canine social time with mutt massages, a pet psychic, and puppy portraits. Guests were also graced by the presence of the new Benji to promote his latest movie, “Benji off the Leash”.
The event was emceed by dog lover and San Diego favorite, Local 8 News co-anchor Beth Shelburne, who gave us the run down on the runway for the Lucky Dog Furry Fashion Show! Guests watched as eighteen dog models strutted their stuff on the catwalk including Bandit the Biker Dog, Lucky Dog’s own Sam the Pug, and media giant Floyd the Dachshund. The fashion show included new styles from Hip Doggie, Ruff Ruff Couture of Beverly Hills, Von Dutch, Jax & Bones, Sleepyheads.com, and of course Lucky Dog!
In the end, lots of money was raised for the Helen Woodward Animal Center and everyone had a great time. Loew’s even had a special “take the elevator home” rate for guests of the event, just in case any of our minglers had a few too many Muttinis!
